MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Front Garden Opening

The other day we had our front garden opening even thought it was raining but it was ok because it was filling up our water tank.We had it in Toroa, the room was buzzing because the project had taken four whole years to complete!!!!
We had many special guests including some of the nature ninjas from 2008 that came up with the idea of the front garden. It was a great day which we will remember.

Spencer Park Picnic

The whole school picnic at Spencer park was extreme! The playground was a big hit and the game of volleyball at the end was very competitive. The flying foxes had HUGE queues, jungle gyms were crammed and the swings didn't stop moving!
It was such a hot and fun day that we had a sleepover on the bus!!!!
Here are some picture of the day...

SANDPIT OPENING!!!!!!

It was a very exciting day on Monday, Ladbrooks learners got to go into their sandpit for the first time!!!! The teachers set up a team scavenger hunt around the school. At every clue there was a clue to the rules of the sandpit, in the end the scavenger hunt taught us the rules to the sandpit. It was an awesome day and now students have a brand new sandpit to play in!!!! Thank you to everyone that helped build the sandpit!!!!
Here are some photos of students playing in the sandpit and doing the scavenger hunt....

Linda's Award

On Tuesday two Warehouse Stationary men came to give Mrs Ewen an award. Mrs Ewen was awarded  one of New Zealand's most inspiring teachers!!!! 4,000 teachers from New Zealand were entered but only 30 got an award! People had to write to Warehouse Stationary and say who should get an award and why they deserved an award, all in 400 words. Linda got $1000 dollars worth of goodies from Warehouse Stationary, including a phone and a printer!!! We are all so proud of our wonderful teacher!!!
Sophie and Charlie receive the award with Linda.

Her printer!!!

And all the other goodies!

Proud Kiwi with their teacher!

Athletics Day

A couple of weeks ago we had small schools athletics day. Everyone did very well!!!! Sadly only 15 students could go to zones. At the end it was a shame because it started raining so we couldn't do long distance! But anyway it was a really fun day! Ladbrooks would love to say thank you to Broadfields for running the small school athletics day. Thank you Broadfields!!!

Good luck to all the people how are going to Zones.

Tui's Geometry Town

Tui have been learning geometry and their key focus
was telling the difference between 2D and 3D shapes and knowing how many faces, edges and corners there are on a shape. They decided to create a town full of many houses, shops and tunnels all made by shapes. They drew roads and lakes with chalk which was the base of the town. It looked fantastic! Well done Tui!!!

Little snippits of Tui's puppets

Tui have been making scenes and cardboard puppets to match to a Ancient Greek myth. They each had a story to follow on with.Their were five groups and they each had to show their puppet shows to Ruru.

Ruru's Egypt names

Ruru has been learning how to write their own names in Egyptian.

We interviewed a student from Ruru and asked "why are the names written in drawings."

This student replied " They are written in this code because in Egypt every letter in the alphabet is represented by a picture . For example the picture of the lion stands for L.
